This Golf Club is one of the more popular and closet to Bangkok golf. The excellent location near to central Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi airport makes this a perfect choice for golfers wanting to play, but who are short on time. The course has Tiff Eagle turf greens and Paspalum grass fairways, ensuring excellent year-round conditions.
The golf course boasts well-guarded greens; with many elevated large side catchment areas, a unique design aspect hardly ever seen on the flattish courses around Bangkok
With wide fairways given players some respite, before thinking about the approach shot to the green, a lot of which are difficult to hold with high lipped bunkers, and shaved edges.
The more you play around the course the better it seems to play, with the back nine offering great variety starting with the exciting risk-reward par-5 13th. Walking through the tunnel, under the highway, players have a blind tee shot, and an approach shot over the intimidating water hazard. Even shorter hitters can cut off a bit of the dogleg and have a go at the green, although a carry of at least 150 yards over the water is needed to reach the green in two. The finishing hole is a deceiving par-5, any approach shots short and right will have a watery ending into the blind pond guarding the green.
The clubhouse is showing its age. However, the rest of the facilities make up for this. The restaurant serves up some of the best western food in Bangkok. Try any of the grilled sandwiches or full American breakfast, and you will be pleasantly surprised. The Pro Shop has a wide selection of men’s and ladies golf clothes, which includes both famous and local brands at reasonable prices.
Golf carts are optional, and the flattish course is easy to walk. The caddies here have plenty experience and will surely help make an average day better. The only downsides are lack of a driving range and the main highway which bisects holes 12 and 13.
